Project : Deduru Oya Water Supply Project – Feasibility Study

Client : EXIM Bank of Korea

The Deduru Oya Water Supply Project is initiated partly as a remedy for the Chronic Kidney Disease ( CKD) which is highly prevail in the area that to be served under the project. It is believed the decease is caused by the usage of water from dug wells. This proposed water supply project will include a 16,500 m3/day Intake structure and Ground reservoir, a Treatment Plant – 16,000 m3/day, elevated towers, ground sumps, and transmission and distribution mains of approx. 350 km. EML provided technical expertise in the investigations, conceptual designs of main components, and had been responsible for all environmental and social aspects.

Project : Greater Matale Water Supply Project –Feasibility Study

Donor : National Water Supply and Drainage Board

Client : EXIM Bank of Korea

Main components of the The Greater Matale Water Supply include: several intake structures , WTPs ( total of 75,000 cu.m/day ) ground and overhead tanks and approx. 300 km of transmission and distribution mains. EML provided technical expertise in the investigations, conceptual designs of main components, and had been responsible for all environmental and social aspects.

Project : Lippekelle Water Supply Project

Client : World Vision Lanka

The Lippekele Estate, situated in the Nuwara Eliya District, is a tea plantation of proximately 180 ha, managed by a regional plantation company. The worker population in the estate is approx 800 consisting of 195 families settled in line clusters within the estate.

The Project is to address a long felt need of a proper hygienic water supply. EML conducted hydrological investigations, community consultations, analysis of environmental and social concerns and finally, preparation of detailed engineering report including drawings and cost estimates.
